La Nature Est Morte

This live painting is a physical exploration of a metaphorical and literal transformation, and a study on the process of decay and flourishing. I decided to present my inner world of complicated shifts between states through a series of ceramic casts of different fruits and vegetables, as I found them to be intriguing as fragile and organic objects.

What exactly happened to the vegetables in this "nature morte" is unknown.

It is only clear that they are undergoing a process of change, they are shifting from what they once were, into something different.

Is it decay or growth?

The answer is in the eye of the beholder.
